Renovation & Addition: Downers Grove, IL

The existing 1890s farmhouse had a Garage with Office space above connected to the main house by a breezeway. Circo Architects, Inc. was retained to design a second-story “link” between the second floor of the house and the space over the Garage. Aside from linking the house horizontally, an additional challenge was a three foot differentiation in floor levels. The second-story addition, over the breezeway, contains a new Master Bathroom, walk-in closet, and gallery/hallway, while providing a level change between new Master Bedroom and the existing house. Through use of similar materials, the new addition blends seamlessly with the existing character of the home.
